Teen Challenge Only Enrolls Teens Who are Struggling with Grades and Their Behavior
Counter to traditional boarding schools in Idaho, Teen Challenge is uniquely equipped to work with struggling adolescents who are spiraling out of control or showing lack of motivation, anger, self-harm, dropping grades, alcohol or drug abuse, or discord with family and others. As a Christian therapeutic boarding school, Teen Challenge is convinced that lasting change takes place from the inside out.
Tuition at Teen Challenge boarding schools may be lower than you might imagine.
While chiefly a therapeutic and life transforming program, Teen Challenge boarding schools also excel in its accredited school with fully equipped school facilities and qualified teachers on campus every day. Credits are transferable back to the child’s home school and diplomas are awarded to teens who graduate while in a Teen Challenge school. Their dedication to help adolescents grow behaviorally, spiritually, and in character is matched by their desire to provide boys and girls with a quality education and quality care.
Teens Come to Teen Challenge Schools from Idaho and from All Across America
Adolescent girls and boys attend Teen Challenge from across the nation, including from Idaho. Most Teen Challenge students are from families who live hours away from the campus. We find it constructive for teens to effect change in a new environment well away from their old peer groups who may be near Idaho.
Teen Challenge provides a dynamic team of dedicated individuals who wrap teens in love when they are at their worst. Teens who are in our care attend individual and group counseling and spiritual guidance. Teens progress through five stages of growth until they gain new attitudes and are ready to return to regular life at home. Outside of scheduled sessions, therapy occurs as teens interact with our team of Christian mentors and staff during class time, recreation, meals, and even chores. Our staff stay with the teens in the dorms and humbly impart their lives out of a desire to positively affect the teens.
Teen Challenge Students Learn to Serve Others As Well
Another key gauge of growth is an attitude of service and giving to others. Teen Challenge heavily encourages community commitment and giving through serving. Teen Challenge teens serve one another, serve the community and learn to serve the world. Service happens on campus; during local trips to shelters, churches, and parks; and in missions opportunities such as building homes for the disadvantaged in Mexico or Haiti. Nurturing maturing teens means instructing them how to serve others, and we work hard to lead by example. The volunteer work is completely charitable and unpaid.
