Teen Challenge Exclusively Enrolls Troubled Teens Struggling with School and Bad Attitudes
Unlike traditional boarding schools in Massachusetts, Teen Challenge is uniquely equipped to work with struggling adolescents who are spiraling out of control or showing lack of motivation, rage, self-harm, dropping grades, alcohol or drug abuse, or discord with family and others. As a Christian therapeutic boarding school, Teen Challenge is convinced that lasting change comes from the inside out.
The cost of Teen Challenge programs may be lower than you might imagine.
While chiefly a therapeutic and life transforming program, Teen Challenge boarding schools also excel in its accredited academic program with fully equipped school facilities and qualified teachers on campus every day. Credits are transferable back to the child’s home school and diplomas are awarded to teens who graduate while in a Teen Challenge school. Their dedication to help adolescents grow behaviorally, spiritually, and in character is matched by their desire to provide boys and girls with a quality education and quality care.
Teens Come to Teen Challenge Schools from Massachusetts and from All Across America
Adolescent girls and boys arrive at Teen Challenge from across the country, including from Massachusetts. Most Teen Challenge students are from families who live hours away from the campus. We find it constructive for teens to effect change in a new environment detached by miles from their old peer groups who may be near Massachusetts.
Teen Challenge provides a dynamic team of dedicated individuals who wrap teens in love when they are at their worst. Teens who are in our care participate in individual and group counseling and spiritual guidance. Teens work through five periods of growth until they gain a new mind-set and are ready to return to regular life at home. Outside of scheduled sessions, therapy takes place as teens work with our team of Christian mentors and staff during class time, recreation, meals, and even chores. Our staff live with the teens in the dorms and humbly share their lives out of a wish to positively affect the teens.
Teen Challenge Students Learn to Serve Others As Well
Another major indicator of growth is a desire to serve and share with others. Teen Challenge strongly encourages community involvement and giving through serving. Teen Challenge teens serve one another, serve the community and learn to serve the world. Service takes place on campus; during community trips to shelters, churches, and parks; and in missions opportunities such as building homes for the disadvantaged in Mexico or Haiti. Nurturing maturing teens means instructing them how to give to others, and we make an effort to lead by example. The volunteer work is completely charitable and unpaid.
